Today (Simplicity)

Today (Simplicity) has a whimsical Alice in Wonderland feel. Happy Hare, rescued from a discarded set of my son’s playing cards, evokes a pun: “Hare today... gone tomorrow”, a reminder to live every moment - as happilyas possible! The teapot symbolizes friendship (tea and sympathy) but also the magic potions that are a part of the healing process. The playing card (applied upside down, and backwards) refers to the cancer “club” that includes our family’s three members, one now absent. The little sailor is a symbol of steady progress. Working cheerfully in cooperation with the prevailing current, he is the captain of his own simple ship.
