Link (Opening Night)

Link (Opening Night) invokes a spirit of play, the power of memory and imagination. It is an homage to women’s paths. A little oriental lady, whom I call Mnemosyne (Greek for “remembering”) treads demurely across text from a fortune cookie: “Depart not from the path which fate has assigned you.” Links of a chain remind us of the ties that bind. The snail with its diamond center connotes measured, inward progress. “Opening Night” conjures up thoughts of role-playing, illusion, personal dramas and new beginnings.
